This expandable lab platform is handy and functional. It's easy to alter the hight to the desired level. It can indeed be operated with a load of 5 kg. The mechanism is generously lubricated. But the finish around the edges of the platform is a bit rough, there could be a danger of injury if you are not careful. The stand is only solid and stable when in the two extreme positions, totally collapsed and totally extended. In between it can be a bit wobbly. So one has to be careful what to use this expandable platform for.
